Childlike Wonder: Outfits for the Youth in You

Childlike Wonder: Outfits for the Youth in You

As days gone by, and as birthdays become occasions we'd try to avoid, we tend to try to want to dress our age, and tend to forget about the "wild child" hidden deep within us. Actually, no matter how old we get, or how many wrinkles there are on our faces, there is still a "child" within all of us, as it should be. No matter what life throws at you, or what negative situations you have been in that may result in you keeping the "child" inside and protected, we should always remember that it is alright to have fun, to look at the positivity in every situation and to be as light-hearted as we can be! Christina Aguilera's Young Girl Don't Cry may be pretty apt for this :)

The same goes with dressing up! Growing up often means getting into the respective roles in our lives, and donning on the clothes that match those characters we are playing. Whether you are on office lady pushing on for that year-end promotion, or a teacher encouraging your students for their final examination, there is a role for you to get into, and an outfit appropriate for that role. However, let's not forget the "child" within us.

In this post, we will be sharing with you ladies some of the dresses that we think might spark and awake the "child" in you :)

MAYFORD is definitely the first item we thought of to be on this list! Featuring loosely-fitted, trapeze silhouette, this feminine little number also comes with abstract strokes and a fluted hemline. The vivacious colours presented in the abstract prints on a solid-hued canvas portrays a fun yet timeless outfit - perfect for picnics and gatherings! :)

Probably our favourite dress of the collection, ROCOCO is the ideal child-like addition to our wardrobe, with its breezy, lightweight fabric and its dreamy, paddle-pop colours! It comes with a straight-cut silhouette with a detachable waist sash - perfect for two ways wearing ;) This dress is exceedingly youthful and happy, decorated with its creative bursts of brush strokes design in complimentary hues.

Growing up also means being more frugal and cautious about our spending, especially if there is a budgeting plan to abide by. We then start to think out of the box and be more experimental with our dressing options and here comes the reversible dress design! COMEY comes with pastel abstract prints on one side and a solid shade on the other. Whether you are looking for a joyful outfit, or a more solemn one, you've got it all in this dress ^^

Catering to the favourites of our audience, we have here, OAKLYN (upcoming 1 August) - the rainbow dress! Who says we can't wear rainbow on ourselves? :P This dress features a fit-n-flare silhouette, a fitted bodice with a flared skirting decorated with the accordion pleats detail. It is surely the most lively coloured prints this season! Even if you are dressing up for work, do so with a happy outfit!

CERELIA  (upcoming 1 August): This is the design of the collection, inspired by an extremely heartrending story of the death of a pregnant whale. Because of the pollution that surrounds, this pregnant whale is found with 50 pounds of plastic in her stomach, and her poor baby whale didn't even manage to catch a glimpse of this world. This dress features the sea, the sky, and the spirited whales. It is to remember these poor animals and try to make our world a better place to live in for every living thing.

A simple shift silhouette with this inspiring print comes in vibrant hues and is a classic and sprightly outfit for both office and outings!
