Colours to Wear This CNY!
Chinese New Year (CNY) is officially just 7 days away! WE ARE SO EXCITED! The CNY routine starts all over again with heartwarming reunion dinners, joyful visitings, and just-for-fun gambling or mahjong sessions with your friends and relatives! Besides the scrumptious food that we are obviously stuffing ourselves with one after another, there's also the gorgeously stunning outfits that all of us will be spotting! Perhaps some of you have already taken note of your lucky colours this year, but generally, here's some of the colour groups that are popular with you girls! If you haven't already gotten your CNY outfits, get your inspiration here!

Warm Hues
First off, the warmer colours are definitely the most popular colour group to go for during Chinese New Year. Colours belonging to this group are red, orange, certain shades of pink, and even yellow. This tradition of wearing such colours stemmed from the story of "Nian", where in simplified terms, the monster "Nian" was frightened away by red decorations around the villagers' homes thereby allowing the villagers a peaceful new year ever since. If you girls are more interested in the story, you can read in detail here.
Nevertheless, this tradition of wearing bright colours like red during CNY lasted through history and is still a popular belief among modern people. This is especially so with the older generation, think of your grandparents and parents, do they also prefer brighter and more festive colours during CNY? :)
This CNY, we made use of the various shades from the warm-toned family, making both bright red to more tone-downed colours such as wine, rose, and orange. If you are going for the super traditional look, feel free to go for Spring Bliss Brocade Dress. This dress is decorated with intricate embroidery patterns and is perfect for achieving that oriental look! Great for relatives, we'd say! There's also Bianca Floral Lace Dress that features a classic, slim-fit silhouette and festive floral lace patterns! For more modern looks, there are the Darlene Jumpsuit and Zola Toga Romper, both of which feature clean and sleek fits.

Cool Hues
Next colour group has got to be the cool colours! Colours like blue, grey, sky clearly belong to this group, and this group has been steadily gaining its own team of ardent supporters! If you do not wish to be so show-stopping in the bright reds, then the cooler colours are great alternatives for your CNY gatherings. These colours are equally amazing, and they are also contemporary colours that are pretty popular with young ladies these days! Similarly, we have the Spring Bliss Brocade Dress and Bianca Floral Lace Dress that also come in a beautiful blue hue.
Then, there is the Fontaine Lace Dress that features a removable mandarin collar that is so so thoughtful if we may say! The mandarin collar makes it really suitable for Chinese New Year, yet it can be removed to be worn on other occasions after CNY. If it's not the most amazing thing, we don't know what is! ;)
And for our younger audience who have recently been interested in set wear, we have the Theora Satin Skirt Set that comes with a ruched cropped top and a ruched midi skirt! It is oh-so-stunning and we love how versatile it is since you can mix and match with other tops and bottoms for different events!

Neutral Hues
Of course, there are also people who have the least interest in dressing up in colours. They love the neutrals and prefer a cooler and more fuss-free way of dressing up! You know it's either you, or you know people like that! It's not surprising, nor is it a wrong thing, because you wear what you like and what makes you happy without having to care about what other people may think about you! So, do you, anytime and anywhere 😎
So for people who love the neutrals, fret not for we have a ton! If you are going for the cooler, sleeker, or more sexy looks, go for the Zia Bustier Top or the Hilton Bustier Jumpsuit! Both exudes elegance and look equally alluring! The best thing is you can most certainly re-wear them even after CNY!
Then, we have the more feminine Jodie Abstract Dress that features our NM exclusive print and can be worn two ways - with or without the waist sash! There's also the Adelaide Bustier Dress that is named the "princess" dress by many of you in live! This is the dress that gives off a dainty look with its lightweight skirting that flows with the wind! It's ideal for date nights or valentines day too!
